1. Your backpacking must include sleeping bags and tents. Tents are very important for your shelter. An inexpensive and poor quality tents would put your life in danger at the hiking spot. Always prefer the branded one. Go in for light weight tents that are compact in size. Sleep in the tent for warmth.
2. Do not camp near water bodies which can condense your tent. Choose your tent wisely. Browse for the quality tents which are resistant to frost.
3. Next is your sleeping bag. It is always better to avoid silicon sleeping bags. We recommend you to choose light weight fiber sleeping bags, compact in size. Strictly select a highly insulated sleeping bag. Sleep lines will also work better. A silk sleep liner which is less weight has got the capacity to extend upwards to nine degrees.
4. If you have planned to use a hand warmer, a few precautions are necessary. But usually, we do not recommend you to take a hand warmer along with you for an outdoor stay as it may cause burns/inflammations if handled with no care. Some people suggest carrying a platypus bottle filled with hot water to warm the sleeping bag. But this does not work out at all times. If the quality of your sleeping bag is not good, then water may leak.
5. Whenever you choose a sleeping pad, ensure the R Value of the pad is accurate. You could gather information on the measurement of insulation against the resistance from REI website. Always keep in mind that the R Value of your sleeping pad and its insulation are directly proportional. The higher the R Value of the sleeping pad, the higher insulation provided during cold conditions.
